Our Story

From the Bush to the Build

Taranaway began in 1968 on 32,000 acres of grass and gidgee trees near Longreach, Queensland. William “Barney” Kent built a life defined by integrity, endurance and care — qualities that would span three generations of the Kent family.

Today those same values shape a very different landscape.

From pastoral roots in wool and beef production to complex construction across Southeast Queensland, Taranaway has evolved with purpose, carrying forward the principles of honesty, accountability and hard work that defined its beginning.
